We take our parties seriously at Giroux Glass, Inc. This past weekend, the partners from our Los Angeles-based office enjoyed a fun afternoon to celebrate summer, at the El Dorado Regional Park in Long Beach, CA. Kudos to our Culture Committee chairperson, Kaitlin Rowatt, for organizing the event beautifully, with help from the rest of our committee.
There was fun, fantastic food, and most of all, our families — who gathered for the day to participate in many activities. There was wonderful food: a huge grill was set up, and the smell of fresh tacos filled the air, provided by Quality Catering Services in Downtown Los Angeles. (We recommend them highly, everyone loved them!)
There was a Bounce House, from Magic Jump Rentals, into which many of the younger set disappeared for hours at a time.
The adults found plenty to do to amuse themselves as well, and that was much of the reason to choose this location for our picnic. Its amenities lend itself to a huge variety of outdoor activities. There were highly interactive games of cornhole and break-the-balloons that took place, and the bean bag games lasted for much longer. The goal of the balloon game was to tie balloons around everyone’s ankles, and the last person standing with his balloon intact is declared the winner. It’s during fun games like these that we discover just how competitive some of our co-workers can be!
When the wind cooperated, there was kite flying too, that took place on “Glider Field,” nearby. Some of our partners who are into fishing brought their gear and tried their luck catching fish in the nearby pond. There don’t appear to be any photos available of fish that were caught, for some strange reason . . . There were lucky winners of gift cards, spa days, and other coveted prizes, though.
