Giroux Glass, Inc. Wins Major Industry Award for Pendry Hotel

We are thrilled to announce that Giroux Glass, Inc. has been honored with Glass Magazine’s 2021 prize for Best Glass Interior. The prestigious glass and metal industry awards program honors companies from across the country in 14 categories. Giroux Glass received its distinction for glazing performed on the Pendry West Hollywood Hotel and Residences, the new luxury boutique hotel and residential complex situated on Sunset Boulevard in the heart of West Hollywood, CA.

Pendry West Hollywood

Giroux Glass supplied and installed a range of custom glass solutions to blend with the glamorous interiors of the hotel, which features 149 guest rooms, a spa, a gym and multiple bar, lounge, and dining areas. The company’s scope for the 30,000-square foot hotel included intricate, decorative antiqued mirror at the stairway and nightclub levels; mirrors for the property’s five bars; and shower glass and bathroom mirrors for each of the guest rooms, as well as in the gym, spa, and other areas.

Adjacent to the hotel on the same property is a 40-unit luxury condominium building. General Contractor AECOM/Hunt hired Giroux Glass to source and install custom glass and mirror systems for both the hotel and residence’s interiors. While the condominium is still undergoing finishing touches, the hotel opened for business in April 2021.

The challenging project required an exacting level of precision at all stages: nearly every piece of glass and mirror installed was custom-measured and individually ordered. “One example is the ‘mirror mosaic’ lining a three-level staircase that connects the lobby to a nightclub,” says Nataline Lomedico, president and CEO, Giroux Glass. “The drawn plans did not align with the size and stock of the mirror components we received, so we had to recalibrate the overall design.” Giroux’s team used lasers before installing in order to find non-conforming walls and floors, then adjusted mirrors to fit, assembling them like a “puzzle,” says Lomedico.

Glass Magazine is the official magazine of the National Glass Association and is the leading trade publication of the flat glass industry. “This year’s winners show why glass is the best material choice for performance, strength, occupant wellness, decoration and more,” says Katy Devlin, associate publisher and editor in chief. “The winning projects run the gamut, from an unbelievable glass dome, to a multicolored hurricane-rated façade, to a stunning and moving decorative memorial installation. Meanwhile, the winning products show how industry companies are responding to today’s most pressing demands.”

The Pendry project was led by project manager Ralph Deligio, estimated by Sam Gonzales, and coordinated by Amanda Torigiani.  Additional drawings were completed in-house by Giroux Glass’ resident CAD design team, and the talented glazier team was managed by superintendent Christian Ruiz, and foremen Brandon Sanchez and Christian Bartolo,  Major kudos to everyone involved in this challenging project.  We think the results speak to their attention to detail and high quality.
