Why Giroux Glass is a 70-Year-Old Company

October 1st marks the start of our new fiscal year, a cause for me to reflect on where we are right now, celebrating our 70th Anniversary. Although I’ve been at Giroux Glass for over 15 years, I’m still at awe knowing that the company has been around much longer than I have. When I think about how we are able to carry on the company legacy, many reasons come to mind. Our focus has never just been about being the biggest. It has always been about being the best; the best glazing company providing the best quality work, the best employer, the best customer, the best subcontractor, and the best contributor to our communities by supporting the families of our communities.

We have always been about doing the right thing. We never choose the easy way if it isn’t the right thing to do. We’ve always paid our bills, even during the worst of the recession. We have integrity and keep our promises. We are loyal and create teams, not transactions. It is not only important to carry on our business to make great contributions to the construction industry, it’s important to us to continue to give back to our employees. We continually invest in our employees to allow them to be the best they can be. We train and promote from within. We create an atmosphere of unity and growth. Through these efforts, we are able to be part of something bigger than ourselves.

There’s something truly special about being a part of the same company for many years and to look back and see its transition and growth. There’s a feeling of such contentment to think back through the years and count the lives we’ve touched, the breathtaking projects, the young employees who started as assistants and are now part of our management team and to count the number of employees who left and came back, because there just wasn’t another place like Giroux Glass.

When you build a company built on integrity, respect, innovation and unity, it’s bound to be long term.  When you actively incorporate those values into your vision, the company will live on for generations to come. We continually strive to nurture our relationships with our employees, clients and vendors to make/keep them rock solid. They know they can rely on us to be here tomorrow.

As time goes on and we watch the number shrink, of companies that are over 50 years old, we reinforce our commitment to be among the oldest companies in the United States. A million footsteps have crossed Giroux Glass’s threshold, and we look forward to billions more to come. I believe we are the American Dream.
