Giroux Glass was recently featured on Facade Tectonics website for our work on the restaurant 71 Above at the US Bank Tower. We are honored to be recognized and are proud to share this article written by Amanda Weko. We worked with SageGlass and utilized their energy-efficient dynamic glass, this electrochromic glazing eliminates the need for internal or external shading devices or glare protection. Giroux Glass installed a total of 192 insulated glass units, or almost 3,000 square feet of glass, and 48 table-side vents, which can be opened by diners to bring in a rush of fresh air and the sounds of the city from far below.
The windows were installed in February 2016 by Union-certified Giroux Glass glaziers. There were logistical challenges that Giroux overcame with the installation of these panels, considering the height of the building, its busy mid-downtown location and strong winter winds. Together with SageGlass and our expertise we completed this project ahead of schedule. We are proud to see that the industry recognizes our accomplishment, the innovative technology of the SageGlass product, and the beauty of the end result.
