Luxury Brand Amiri Shines at the Wynn and Encore Resort in Las Vegas

Luxury streetwear brand Amiri just opened its newest retail space at the Wynn/Encore Resort in Las Vegas. The glamorous new shop—which sells casual, high-end clothing, shoes, and accessories for men and women—features huge marble panels, illuminated display cases, and a number of large glass storefront windows, storefront pocket doors, and mirrors installed by our Giroux Glass Las Vegas team.

Hired by general contractor Alan Hirsch Construction Corp, Giroux Glass completed the full glazing scope — consisting of storefront systems, glass, and sliders from Alumil, as well as mirrors from GlasPro –over the course of 10 days. The storefront portion of the installation was particularly challenging due to the large size of the glass, and the challenging accessibility of the store’s location within the hotel/casino complex.

The storefront glass units were all 1-inch laminated and 15 feet tall, and varied in widths up to 7.5 feet, and weights up to 1500 lbs. each. The construction site was located at the very back corner of the Encore casino floor, and transporting these massive units of glass across the large space required a lot of manpower and coordination. Furthermore, all but two of these units had to be installed from the inside of the store, which was difficult to access due to the shape of the space and the temporary construction wall that hid the installation site from hotel guests and visitors. To overcome these unique spatial challenges, our team used a Smartlift glass lifter to maneuver the pieces to their correct interior position for installation. The two largest units were then set from the exterior of the store.

Our solutions worked, and we’re proud of the clean, luxurious aesthetic our team was able to achieve. Special thanks are due to estimator Daniel Rodriguez, project manager Dan Micheli, foreman Johnathan Minor, and Union glaziers Joel Reinoehl, Eugene Cornett, and Joel Marin. Without their effort, experience, and professionalism, completing this project would not have been possible.
