To Our Giroux Family During These Challenges

Tonight, I listened to Mayor Garcetti’s State of the City address and was reminded of our strength and fortune of being an “essential business” during this unusual time.  It has now been over 30 days since the Stay-at-Home orders began, but our own mission has not stalled.  As you drive to the office or to job sites through empty streets, or read stories of life suspended via social media, may you remind yourself that we, the team of Giroux Glass, are working tirelessly to build a stronger future, not just for our company, but for everyone. Our special privilege to continue our work won’t just help bring things back to ‘normal,’ it will make our communities stronger and better than before.

We have taken the opportunity to build a better normal simply by doing what we do best: continuing to provide excellent glass, glazing and paneling to projects built to bring people together. We are working on metro stations that will expand connections between regional communities. We are building hotels and resorts that will draw people from all over the world to support our local economies. We are providing essential glazing services to stadiums that will host millions of sports fans and concert-goers as they cheer on their favorite teams, bands, and artists. And from an operational standpoint, this time has challenged us to expect the unexpected and heighten our awareness of health and safety practices, all of which serves to improve our protocol, communication, flexibility, and efficiency as an organization.  As we reflect on the many projects we are currently undertaking, it’s clear that we’re preparing ourselves, our business, and our communities for that ‘better’ normal.

We continue to track our project schedules on a daily basis.  There have been a few delays, but on the whole, we’ve been moving  steadily forward.  In the coming weeks, we will be completing a handful of projects and starting many more.  This time has provided opportunities we ordinarily would not have focused on, including taking on more fast-paced work, stepping in when other subcontractors have been forced to leave a project, and continuing to expand into new territories.  Our diverse work and locations allow us to ebb and flow through the unique protocols set forth by local municipalities.

In closing, I want to thank you all for your relentless contribution and commitment to the strength of our company.  Every moment of adversity also comes with its own set of opportunities, and ensuring our success not only requires us to stay committed towards long-term goals, but also to recognize new pathways for growth that emerge. May we keep our eye toward our future, but look carefully along the way to find new opportunities; they are abundant and we will passionately take them on together.
