Charity Golf Tournaments

Here at Giroux Glass, we strive to honor our core values every day: Ownership, growth, respect, excellence, unity, and integrity. When it comes to the word unity, we believe that we are not only united as a company, but we stand united as a community. Last month we had the pleasure of sponsoring two charity golf events that align with our core values and illustrate the importance of giving back to the community.

The G.L Bruno Family Foundation Golf Tournament

On October 12, 2018, Partners John Smith and Kelly Edwards attended the 22nd Annual G.L Bruno Foundation Golf Tournament. When asked about the day, John explained that “The weather was perfect, the golf course was beautiful, and a lot of money was raised for some outstanding causes.” John has been with Giroux Glass for 16 years and recalls that “G.L. Bruno was one of the first companies that gave us a real chance in Central California, they are a great group of people, and it is always nice to talk with them outside of work.”

This was Kelly’s first time attending the tournament, and he was amazed at how organized the event was. From the raffle drawing, to how smoothly the tournament went. Kelly explains that “The tournament was an overall great time.”

The G.L Bruno Foundation raised a total of $113,000 from the golf tournament and donated a total of $64,500 to the following charities:
Mighty Moms- $2,000
Alzheimer’s Association- $5,000
Cedar Sinai Pediatrics IBD Program-$5,000
United Cerebral Palsy of Central Valley- $5,000
Make a Wish- $7,500

The Fresno County Board of Supervisors declared Oct. 12th Gary Bruno Day.

PENTA’s 11th Annual Charity Golf tournament

On October 19, 2018, for the seventh year, Giroux partners participated in the PENTA Charity Golf Tournament. Brian Peregrina, Kelly Edwards, and Tom Molinaro played in the tournament while Barbara Kotsos and Alexandria Sowell ran the Giroux Glass sponsored tent.

Every year, Giroux Glass offers a unique challenge to tournament players. Our “Have a Shot – Take a Shot” challenge offers participants a shot of their favorite alcohol and opportunity to try to break our glass target. Over the past seven tournaments, only four people have successfully beat the challenge and broke our target.

This year PENTA raised $70,000 in total and awarded $35,000 to the Midnight Mission & 35,000 to Mission 22.
