Associated General Contractors (AGC) of California hosted the 2023 Installation and Awards Gala, sponsored by Procore, on February 3, 2023, at the Fairmont San Francisco. This prestigious black-tie event celebrated our industry’s achievements over the past year in a formal awards ceremony. The event takes place annually to recognize outstanding projects completed over the previous year, as well as to honor the leadership and innovation of AGC of California member companies and individuals.
Congratulations to our CEO and president, Nataline Lomedico, who was honored personally to receive the Specialty Contractor Achievement Award for her outstanding contributions to the construction industry. Other deserving Achievement Award recipients included Tod Decker of Blois Construction; José Mejia, (retired) of the California State Council of Laborers; Emiliano Sanchez of the Oakland Unified School District; Giovanna Brasfield, of Brasfield & Associates; and Dan McGrew (retired) of Griffith Company.

Hundreds of attendees enjoyed video presentations of the Constructor Award finalists, whose outstanding projects spanned across ten categories, in an impressive variety of commercial and civil projects that ranged from less than $10M to over $200M, along with one award presented for Excellence in Partnering. More detail about the finalists and award-winning projects can be found here.
The night’s activities also included the organization’s installation of its new leadership and new board of directors. The officers for next year will be led by Dina Kimble, of Royal Electric, serving for her second year as president, and by Steve Rule, of Turner Construction, serving as president-elect.

In addition to receiving her award, Nataline also joined the board of directors of the AGC Construction Education Foundation (CEF), a cause that is near and dear to her own personal passion to support and motivate young people to work in the industry.
The elegant event was a resounding success, and certainly set a high bar for AGC CA’s future award evenings. The same can be said for the many projects that were recognized on that night. If workmanship and construction projects continue to become yet more impressive, it’s hard to imagine the levels of creativity and ingenuity that will be revealed in the years ahead.
