The Super Bowl is touching down in Los Angeles in a major way. Not only is it to be held at the newly-opened SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, but one of the stadium’s home teams, the Los Angeles Rams, will be playing the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL championship game.
Giroux Glass’ Los Angeles office is thrilled – not only because we all love to root for our own, but also because we helped to build the 70,240-seat stadium, installing glass at multiple levels of the complex. Though we are contractually prevented from publicly discussing the details of our scope, we can say that we’re incredibly proud to have played a role in constructing the historic new addition to Los Angeles’ sporting legacy.
Construction of the unique indoor-outdoor stadium broke ground in 2016, and completed in 2020, just in time for a very quiet inaugural NFL season. Due to COVID, fans were prohibited from watching their favorite teams play at the stadium in person, but fortunately, the 2021-2022 season brought a triumphant return to fanfare. To end this successful season by hosting the Super Bowl would have been cause for celebration alone, but the fact that the Rams will be competing for the championship in their new home adds unprecedented excitement to the whole affair. Whoever takes the title, it’s already a season for the books!
We can’t wait to see both teams duke it out on Sunday, and we look forward to many more seasons of excitement in the future.
