Giroux Glass is proud to be involved in the recent developments at LAX, named the 6th busiest airport in the world.
Giroux Glass Estimator and Project Manager, Tom Molinaro, is working closely alongside General Contractor, Hensel Phelps, to bring the glasswork of the $300-million makeover plans for LAX Terminal 2 to fruition by 2015. New eateries and retail spaces will reflect a design theme inspired by the iconic “energy, innovative, modern, and always ‘on-the-go’ culture of LA” (LA Times).
Our role in the project involves various types of glass and glass systems. A vibrant, laminated glass art installation including a custom Maharam pattern, will be installed in the arrivals level of T2. A striking glass riser will be a showcase of the “grand stair” section of the terminal. Custom white back-painted glass, starphire bent and flat tempered glass, custom stand-offs, and mirrors will also be installed as the construction phases continue.
Terminal 2 is home to 12 different airlines such as Air Canada, Air China, Air New Zealand, Hawaiian Air, and Virgin Atlantic.
