Wynn XS Las Vegas Nightclub
Located at Wynn XS Las Vegas Nightclub is an opulent nightclub that wraps around the European Pool at its Encore Beach Club, creating a unique and visually striking setting. Its initial grand opening was on New Year’s Eve in 2008 at an estimated cost of $100MM. Seven years later, its $10 MM (mostly technology) renovation was completed in time for the same date in 2015. Reputed to be one of the most successful and expensive nightclubs in the world, XS is a hotspot for nightclub patrons and visitors to the Las Vegas Strip. For entertainment, it offers popular DJs, and hip-hop and electronic music amidst extravagant laser, LED, and high-tech visual shows.
About 8,000 visitors nightly fill the 13,000-square-feet indoor area, the 27,000-square-feet pool area, and to party on the 1,100-square-feet dance floor. The vision of architect Roger Thomas, of Wynn Design and Development, the venue’s design scheme was inspired by the curves of the human form.
Guests are welcomed at the entrance with a glitter-laden staircase located where gold-leaf body molds draw visitors inside, and extend more than 15 feet. The gold-plating extends to the 10-foot, rotating chandelier that hangs over the main dance floor, and three additional gold-plated molds of a woman’s form serve as embellishment behind one of the club’s bars. The design throughout is decorated in rich shades of gold, black, bronze and brown.
The general contractor on this project was McCarthy Building Companies, and they contracted Giroux Glass to install the glazing elements of this project. Our scope included storefront systems—several comprised of curved glass—along with storefront doors, mirrors, and turnstile doors.
