Estimator/Project Manager

Based in: Los Angeles, CA

Reports to: Director of Service Department

Type of Position: Full-time

We are in search of an estimator/project manager to join our Service team. The candidate must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the US.

The job will require all stages of bidding on and managing projects, including but not limited to: reviewing job specifications; visiting job sites; choosing best options for systems/materials; soliciting and reviewing vendor and subcontractor quotes; performing labor reviews; maintaining bid spreadsheets; negotiating work with various clients, ensuring a smooth project process.

We expect:

  • Experience reading and understanding take-offs from field technicians
  • Experience reading plans, bid documents and shop drawings
  • The ability to estimate labor under pressure for emergencies and quick deadlines
  • Excellent customer service skills. Listening and problem solving skills are critical
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills on the phone and in person
  • The ability to cost estimate/calculate and create proposals in a timely manner

We require:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the glazing industry
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the shop or field
  • Minimum high school diploma and one year college or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel, Adobe, and Outlook
